Job description
Lead cloud architecture strategy by defining technical roadmaps, reusable patterns, and "easy button" templates that enable teams to adopt cloud solutions where appropriate while supporting continued on-premise operations for mission-critical needs
- Architect end-to-end solutions for complex CNE services, addressing challenges such as large-scale data migration, hybrid cloud integration, and maintaining security controls while improving performance and scalability
- Conduct technical assessments of existing infrastructure, documenting dependencies, evaluating platform health, and developing prioritization frameworks based on lifecycle status, mission impact, cost efficiency, and user experience
- Partner with cloud professional services and mission stakeholders, including AWS ProServe teams, to scope engagements, validate architectures, and ensure solutions meet the unique requirements of CNE development, testing, and collaboration
- Design and modernize developer workflows and user experiences, improving how CNE developers interact with their environments through capabilities such as unified authentication, streamlined tooling, and scalable data access
- Drive continuous improvement of the software development environment, creating an ecosystem that attracts, enables, and retains top engineering talent
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. (Additional 4 years of experience may substitute degree)
- 8 years of experience in software development
- Extensive experience designing, building, and modernizing complex enterprise infrastructure
- Proven production experience architecting and deploying AWS cloud solutions
- Experience leading infrastructure modernization and cloud migration initiatives
- Strong understanding of hybrid cloud architectures and incremental migration strategies
- Experience navigating agency cloud constraints, including ATO processes and the WANDS environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, security teams, leadership, and external partners
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to operate in ambiguous problem spaces
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and drive technical consensus
- Experience mentoring engineers and fostering technical growth within teams

Salary range: $150,000 - $190,000 Disclaimer: Salary for this position, along with additional compensation options, will be determined on an individual basis following the interview process, considering various factors such as years of experience, skills, education/certifications, contract specifications, market conditions, etc.
