IDEAYA Biosciences is seeking a Director, Enterprise Applications, IT (Business Systems) to lead the strategy, delivery, and operations of enterprise applications supporting both Research & Development and General & Administrative functions.
This role is responsible for building and operating a scalable, compliant, and integrated enterprise application ecosystem spanning Research, Clinical, DevOps, Supply Chain, Finance, HR and Legal systems. The Director will act as a key IT Business partner to R&D and G&A leadership, translating enterprise priorities into technology roadmaps and delivering systems that enable operational efficiency, compliance, and data-driven decision-making.
This leader will oversee enterprise platforms, system integrations, vendor ecosystems, and digital transformation initiatives across both regulated (GxP, SOX) and non-regulated enterprise domains, ensuring alignment with IDEAYA's growth as a commercial-stage biotechnology company.
This position is based in South San Francisco and requires onsite presence four days per week per company policy., * Lead the strategy, design, implementation, and operations of enterprise applications supporting R&D (Clinical, Regulatory) and G&A (Finance, HR, Legal, Procurement) functions.
- Define and maintain enterprise application roadmaps aligned with business strategy, operational priorities, and compliance requirements.
- Oversee implementation and lifecycle management of systems such as Veeva (EDC/RIM/eTMF/QMS), NetSuite, Workday, Coupa, ADP, Concur, and CLMS platforms (e.g., Ironclad).
- Lead enterprise system integration strategy across R&D and G&A platforms, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability across applications.
- Drive end-to-end execution of system implementations, enhancements, upgrades, and migrations across enterprise applications.
- Establish governance frameworks, steering committees, and prioritization processes across R&D and G&A stakeholders.
- Manage vendor ecosystem including SaaS providers, system integrators, and managed service providers (MSPs), ensuring delivery accountability and performance.
- Oversight of other IT Project Managers, vendors, and managed service providers (MSPs) to deliver projects with quality and high customer satisfaction. This includes securing funding and approvals, managing resource allocation, and implementing robust governance through change control policies, executive dashboards, and centralized program and portfolio management.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and financial frameworks including GxP, CSA/CSV, 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, SOX, ITGC, and other internal control standards.
- Drive system validation and support audit readiness/inspection activities across regulated and enterprise applications.
- Lead organizational change management, user adoption, and training initiatives to ensure successful system deployment and utilization.
- Develop executive dashboards and portfolio reporting to enable transparency into enterprise IT investments and initiatives.
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, including cloud platforms, automation, and AI-driven enterprise applications, to improve efficiency and IT Capabilities., The expected salary range for the roleof Director, Enterprise Applications, IT (Business Systems) is $209,000 - $258,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the office location where this open position is located, the final candidates' experience within their profession, experience in the disease areas we are striving to make an impact in as a company, length of time within the industry, educational background, and performance during the interview process.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 12-15+ years of IT experience, including 10+ years of leadership experience across enterprise applications.
- Strong business process expertise across R&D and enterprise functions (Clinical, Regulatory, Finance, HR, Legal, Procurement) in life sciences or biotech environments.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise platforms including SAS, clinical data warehouses, Veeva (RIM, eTMF, QMS), Workday, NetSuite, Coupa, ADP, Concur, CLM systems (e.g., Ironclad), and Smartsheet.
- Strong understanding of system integration, enterprise architecture, and cloud-based SaaS ecosystems.
- Strong knowledge of regulated environments including GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, SOX, ITGC, and validation lifecycle frameworks.
- Experience driving governance, portfolio management, and enterprise IT operating models.
- Demonstrated success leading high performance IT teams, managing vendors, and delivering enterprise-scale programs.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, integration frameworks, and data platforms.
Hands-on leadership style with strong analytical thinking, judgment, and execution capability.
