Job description

The WTP/TWO Site Integration Consultant will provide senior level advisory support for Waste Treatment and Immobilization Project (WTP) Direct-Feed Low-Activity Waste (DFLAW) and Direct-Feed High-Level Waste (DFHLW) Integration in the following areas:

  • Assist in managing and integrating activities across the Tank Operations Contract (TOC) contractor, the WTP contractor, and Hanford site-wide infrastructure and services necessary to execute DFLAW and DFHLW mission objectives.
  • Manage organizational interfaces and integration activities across Hanford site contractors. This includes resolving technical issues, supporting programmatic oversight, and maintaining effective contractor-to-contractor interfaces necessary for the tank waste treatment mission.
  • Provide senior-level technical expertise and advisory support to WTP/WTO in planning, project management, and resolution of technical integration issues. Coordinate with multiple organizations and disciplines to ensure the establishment and maintenance of interfaces required for safe, compliant operations at the tank farms and WTP.
  • Support coordination and facilitation of high-level integration decisions between site contractors using extensive knowledge of Hanford site operations.
  • Assist WTP/TWO in communicating the status of integration activities to HFO senior management, including DFLAW operations, tank farm operations, WTP and Tank Farms engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities, and supporting site infrastructure and site services.
  • Brief HFO senior management on technical issues and options for resolution and facilitate timely decision-making.
  • Conduct critical assessments and evaluations of technical issues, program requirements, integration risks, and challenges supporting the safe and effective operations and contract transitions associated with DFLAW. This work requires broad, expert-level engineering and project management knowledge.
  • Perform technical reviews of contractor integration activities to evaluate adequacy, quality, reliability, and compliance with established criteria and sound engineering principles. Identify omissions, discrepancies, inadequacies, or non-conformance.
  • Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. The Contractor shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner. The Contractor employee shall submit a weekly report to the technical monitor addressing work accomplished, and deliverable progress.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Technical engineering?, * Education - BS/BA (or AA, MS, MBA, PhD, etc.) degree in engineering, science, or business management or alternatively eight years of experience may be substituted for BS/BA degree.

  • Fourteen (14)+ years of directly applicable successful experience consulting or contributing on complex projects, including providing strategic, management, technical, or business assistance to significant projects or programs in a senior capacity and/or as a consultant.
  • Knowledge of DOE policies and procedures.
  • Expert level knowledge of Hanford Site mission, activities and priorities.
  • Expert level knowledge of DOE program and project management practices, policies, and procedures including experience in managing complex nuclear projects.
  • Familiar with operations, maintenance, training programs or processes in a nuclear facility., * Executive experience with direct interface with client senior management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Hanford Site mission, activities, and priorities.
  • In-depth knowledge of DOE Hanford processes and procedures.
  • Proficient in DOE's program management practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with, or ability to quickly learn and utilize, various technology management tools used at Hanford.
  • Expert writing skills, proven experience in supporting programs and projects with analysis, tracking, monitoring, assessment, review and coordination.
  • Knowledge of the following DOE Orders/Standards, DOE O 422.1, Conduct of Operations, DOE O 426.2 Training, Qualification, and Certification Requirements, DOE O 425.1D, Verification of Readiness to Start Up or Restart Nuclear Facilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft 365, excel and word.
