Job description
We are seeking an Application Monitoring Engineer to join a team focused on developing and implementing advanced monitoring solutions. This role involves working closely with application development, infrastructure operations, and engineering teams to create synthetic transactions that mimic the end-user experience. The successful candidate will analyze application component interactions, benchmark key performance indicators, and architect robust monitoring strategies in a large, multi-data center enterprise environment., * Develop and implement monitoring solutions to simulate end-user experience and synthetic transactions.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to understand application architecture and dependencies.
- Benchmark key performance indicators and document use cases, test plans, and implementation plans.
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards and alerting systems using tools like Splunk and Dynatrace.
- Analyze application and network performance and availability.
- Provide support for production systems and troubleshoot monitoring-related issues.
- Utilize automation skills to reduce manual activities and improve efficiency.
- This role requires weekend 2nd shift work (AMRS East Coast Hours), including Friday and Saturday.
Requirements
Education: A Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) or a similar field, or equivalent professional experience is required., * 3+ years of development or architecture experience with multi-tiered business applications.
- 2+ years of experience in a production systems engineering or support role.
- Demonstrated experience in application and network performance and availability monitoring.
Technical Skills:
- Proven expertise with Splunk and Dynatrace, including implementation, dashboard design, and alert configuration.
- Knowledge of OS (Windows/Unix) based infrastructure services, processing, monitoring, and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with Python.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with monitoring tools such as SiteScope, Catchpoint, or AppDynamics.
- Experience working in a large, multi-data center enterprise environment.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic, and team-oriented environment.

The pay rate for this position is between $68.00 and $73.68 per hour. Contract employees are eligible for benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance options.
