Job description

  • Provide senior-level technical, implementation, and governance support to high-risk mechanical and electrical enterprise projects within a commercial nuclear power environment.

  • Act as a subject matter expert, supporting Project Managers to ensure project deliverables are executed safely, with high quality, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with regulatory and industry best practices.

  • Perform detailed technical reviews of critical project documentation to identify opportunities for schedule optimization, cost reduction, risk mitigation, and execution efficiency.

  • Review and challenge project strategies, implementation plans, and execution readiness to improve overall project performance.

  • Conduct iterative reviews of project artifacts including (but not limited to):

  • Project and outage schedules (work management and lifecycle-based)

  • Implementation means and methods (internal and vendor-developed)

  • Risk registers and mitigation strategies

  • Work Orders and supporting documentation (weld records, repair/replacement plans, sketches, etc.)

  • Quality control inspections, hold points, and acceptance criteria

  • Test, commissioning, and turnover plans

  • Clearance orders, material handling plans, rigging plans, and tooling strategies

  • Resource loading plans, including mobilization and demobilization strategies

Validate and remediate Work Order Tasks (WOTs) to ensure accuracy, clarity, regulatory compliance, and error-free field execution.

Review and enhance testing, inspection, and acceptance plans (shop, factory, site, mock-up, post-modification).

Identify work activities that would benefit from mock-ups and provide guidance to ensure mock-ups deliver measurable execution value.

Apply operating experience and industry lessons learned to proactively identify risks and develop response strategies.

Serve as the technical authority or designated responsible individual for applicable repair and replacement activities, including code-based work when required.

Provide oversight of field and shop activities as needed, ensuring work aligns with approved strategies and schedules.

Support outage and non-outage work execution, including acting as the senior authority on alternate shifts when required, potentially overseeing large multidisciplinary crews.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to remove execution barriers and ensure alignment with project objectives.

Participate in key project and governance meetings, including readiness reviews, schedule development sessions, risk management forums, and high-risk work planning meetings.

Deliver candid, timely feedback to project leadership and management on execution risks, strategy gaps, and improvement opportunities.
