Job description

Oversee the evaluation of performance for internal and external lithium-ion cells by directing test plan execution, statistically analyzing the subsequent test data, publishing testing reports, and communicating the test data in accordance with program timing. Lead the development of web applications for internal and customer-facing data analytics and visualization using modern web technologies. Manage the development of equivalent circuit, physical, and machine learning models related to batteries for battery testing validation, battery life prediction, and Battery Management Systems (BMS). Oversee the development of additional AI applications and tools to enhance efficiency for all colleagues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including validation engineers, system engineers, and battery testing engineers, to gather requirements and define project scope. Ensure the implementation and maintenance of scalable, efficient, and reliable back-end systems that support data processing and analysis for both internal and external users. Direct the development and optimization of front-end components for high-performance data visualization, ensuring a seamless user experience for all stakeholders. Supervise the writing of clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and industry standards. Interface with the BMS team to relay cell information for State-of-Charge model and State-of-Health model development. Develop testing methods by studying internal and external customer requirements and researching test literature.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor - Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or a related engineering field of study. Experience: Three (3) years in the position above or in a related engineering role; Experience must include:

  1. Lithium-ion battery testing, battery modeling, and software application development;
  2. Operating and maintaining battery charge/discharge testing equipment and environmental chamber equipment; and
  3. Data processing and statistical analysis with lithium-ion test data.
