Job description
American Express Travel Related Services Company, Inc. seeks Senior Data Engineers to work with product teams to understand business data requirements, identify data needs and data sources to create data architecture, and support changes and implementation., Document data requirements and data stories and maintain data models to ensure seamless integration into existing data architectures. Create and maintain information about stored data and understand database requirements and translate those requirements into physical database design. Build and enhance database design and infrastructure that supports the business portfolio. Perform database design review, support database testing, and provide production environment support for database systems and processes. Design database features for ongoing sprints and monitor database requirements based on industry trends, new technologies, known defects, and issues.
Requirements
Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field, followed by 5 years of progressively responsible experience with database administration. Experience must include 1 year of experience with each of the following: developing and tuning with relational databases (RDBMS); database development and support of OLTP and OLAP systems; transforming logical data architectures into physical data designs; database administration using MongoDB; troubleshooting performance enhancements, latency, capacity, and availability issues in a production support environment; and Ansible, Cassandra, Couchbase, data modeling, data profiling, data quality, data security, database process optimization, ELK, ER/Studio, Grafana, GitHub, IBM AIX, IBM DB2, Linux, Python, schema designing, SQL tuning, Splunk, Unix Shell Scripting, and Windows Server. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S.
