Job description
The DevSecOps / Systems Engineer will support the engineering, deployment, integration, and sustainment of modern software solutions within Department of Defense environments. This position requires expertise in systems engineering, secure software delivery pipelines, cloud-native technologies, and deployment of containerized applications into operational Navy environments.
The selected candidate will play a key role in integrating modern software capabilities into mission systems while ensuring cybersecurity compliance, scalability, and operational effectiveness., * Support systems engineering activities across the software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, architecture, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
- Design, configure, and support DevSecOps environments and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Deploy and maintain applications within the Overmatch Software Armory (OSA) or equivalent DoD software factory environments.
- Integrate containerized applications, microservices, and distributed computing technologies into Department of Navy operational environments.
- Support deployment and integration activities involving CANES and Navy tactical computing environments.
- Implement infrastructure automation and secure deployment strategies using DevSecOps methodologies.
- Collaborate with software engineers, AI engineers, Naval Operations SMEs, and cybersecurity teams to deliver mission-focused capabilities.
- Support software modernization efforts, testing activities, and operational demonstrations.
- Assist in implementing Zero Trust and cybersecurity best practices across software environments.
- Participate in technical reviews, customer engagements, and architecture discussions.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Systems integration?, * Minimum five (5) years of Department of Defense systems engineering experience supporting software-intensive environments.
- Demonstrated experience deploying applications within:
- Overmatch Software Armory (OSA)
- Equivalent DoD software factory environments
- DevSecOps environments
- CI/CD pipelines
- Demonstrated experience integrating:
- Containerized applications
- Microservice architectures
- Service mesh technologies
- Distributed computing environments
- Experience supporting Department of Navy operational systems including environments such as:
- CANES
- Tactical and operational network architectures
- Fleet mission systems
Required Certifications
Possession of DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II certification and/or intermediate proficiency baseline certification supporting Cyber Workforce Framework (CSWF) requirements, including:
- Security+ CE
- CySA+
- Equivalent approved certification
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting Department of Navy or Joint operational programs
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration platforms
- Experience with GitLab, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools
- Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and Infrastructure as Code
- Familiarity with Zero Trust architectures and cybersecurity engineering principles
- Experience supporting software modernization and experimentation environments
- Experience integrating AI-enabled capabilities into operational systems
