As a Senior Portfolio Application Engineer - Thin Bonding, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Working with global Application Engineering, Product Development, Sales, and Marketing personnel to develop and replicate high-impact bonding applications for the IATD Thin Bonding portfolio.
- Identifying the best 3M solution for an application by thoroughly understanding the customer need, testing, and analyzing results. Communicate results to customers and the global application engineering team through written reports and presentations.
- Providing launch support for new product programs by generating supporting documentation, demonstration tools, videos, and training materials
- Building a deep understanding of customer needs and competition for the double coated tapes, foam tapes and fastening market and providing "Voice of Customer," new product ideas and competitive analysis
- Diagnosing customer application issues and help solve in an expeditious manner
- Willingness to participate in early morning or evening meetings with a global team, Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.

Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Video tutorial instructional content development?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- Three (3) years of experience working with polymers or adhesives in a private, public, government or military environment
- Two (2) years of experience in Application Engineering
- Current, valid Driver's License.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Masters or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science from an accredited institution
- Five (5) years of experience in Application Engineering
Work location:
- Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
- Travel: May include up to 20% domestic/international
Relocation: No
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
