Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector is searching for Staff Engineer Software to join our Research and Advanced Design (R&AD) Division in support of R&D activities spanning multiple sectors and programs, onsite in Aurora, CO.

Must be able to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts. Work on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious. Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objective and self-initiate assignment when required. Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
Your work will be checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by formal review of superior. You will be expected to develop advanced technological ideas and guide their development into a final product and demonstration. In this role, You may be selected to serve as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs and act as an advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.
Your task encompasses the following:
Leading software development and integration teams. Working with internal business partners to gather requirements, prototyping, and creating complex solutions supporting joint all domain command and control (JADC2) advanced studies utilizing cloud technologies, AI/ML and other optimization methods as it applies to JADC2.
Requirements
The individual we seek will be self-motivated, proactive, goal-oriented to help us grow our services, become even better at what we do and will possess the following qualifications., * Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 12 years of relevant experience; OR Master's Degree in STEM with 10 years of experience; OR PhD with 8 years of experience
- Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Top Secret clearance, and any program access (es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
- Understanding of all phases of software development, and practical experience in an Agile DevOps environment
- Experience with version control and collaborative development tool suites such as Git and Bitbucket
- Demonstrable expertise with Java, C++, and scripting languages (Bash, Python, YAML)
- Experience with Angular, REST APIs
- Writing micro-services in event driven architecture using containers and container management, Helm Charts, AWS/C2S, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps Automation including Jenkins, Maven, and Atlassian Tools
- Experience with database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.
- Experience leading software development teams
- Experience interacting with customers/stakeholders
- Knowledge of data driven architectures and solutions
- Knowledge and familiarity of software and systems engineering
- Significant experience using/developing in a Linux environment, * Counter Intelligence (CI) Polygraph
- Experience with DoD Open Architecture solutions such as Open Mission Systems
- Experience with the development and application of AI/ML algorithms
- Experience with Battle Management in one or more operational domains
- Experience with development and integration related to aircraft mission operations
- Experience configuring Linux environments (e.g., installing RPMs)
- Experience with software/container security scanning tools
- Experience with Ansible automation
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, collaborative/team settings across all levels
- Strong software architecture design and diagnostic/problem solving skills
- Experience working Requests for Information (RFIs) and Request for Proposals (RFPs)
- Security+ certification

Primary Level Salary Range: $177,000.00 - $265,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
