Job description
As a Product Development Engineer - Software, you'll be part of our Stanley Engineered Fastening (SEF) team working as an onsite employee. You'll get to:
- Develop and Maintain Software: Hands-on development of SEF Automated Fastening Systems codebase ensuring reliability, maintainability and performance.
- Become a Product Expert: Gain in-depth expertise with all major SEF product lines, including Stud Welding, Self Pierce Riveting, and Automated Blind Fastening.
- Hands-On Engineering: Participate in building prototype systems and perform real-world testing and fastening operations.
- Drive Feature Development: Collaborate with Product Management and Sales to define, design, and implement new software features that address customer needs.
- Technical Support: Assist Plant Operations and Technical Field Services by troubleshooting software and electrical system issues, ensuring timely issue resolution.
- Test and Validate Systems: Write comprehensive test plans and perform validation testing to guarantee system quality and compliance.
- Collaborate Across Borders: Work closely with global team members from other regions and product lines to share knowledge and pursue joint projects.
- Data Insights & Analytics: Analyze large datasets to uncover trends and actionable insights from complex machine measurement and process logs, raw sensor and I/O data etc.
Requirements

- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- 2-3 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong Object-Oriented programming skills with both managed, unmanaged languages (C#/C++, C) and experience programming embedded systems working within Linux environments.
- Ability and willingness to adapt to various programming domains including Full stack web application development.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, combined with hands-on experience in using multimeters, oscilloscopes, JTAG/in-circuit debuggers, and serial debuggers to troubleshoot hardware.
- Background in industrial automation, mechatronics, and familiarity with industrial networks such as DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP or Profinet is a plus.

The Salary range for this position is $72,000.00 - $115,900.00
