For over ninety years, Dalgliesh Gilpin Paxton Architects has worked closely with our clients to create timeless works inspired by regional & environmental context. Spanning a range of styles, our design work extends throughout the United States and abroad. We are seeking candidates with 8 or more years of professional experience for a staff architect position at our studio in Charlottesville, Virginia. We are looking for well-rounded individuals passionate about design and construction at all levels, with conceptual talent, technical ability, and strong communication skills., * Professional architectural degree from an accredited school required
- Experience with high-end institutional and commercial projects
- Strong organizational & verbal, written and graphic communication skills including hand sketching
- Strong design, analytical and problem-solving skills
- A passion for self-motivated learning, discovery and constant improvement
- Willingness to take on responsibility and grow within a highly collaborative studio environment
- Experience collaborating and coordinating consultant teams and contractors
- Experience managing and producing architectural contract documents
- Construction administration experience
- Experience and proficiency using CAD drafting or BIM modeling software, Adobe Creative Suite and digital modeling platforms (Rhino / SketchUp)
