Job description

A leading global IT services organization is seeking a Project Manager for a contract opportunity supporting large-scale, vendor-driven initiatives within a public sector environment. This role focuses on managing enterprise software and digital transformation efforts, with an emphasis on governance, stakeholder coordination, and ensuring successful delivery across complex programs.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving, high-visibility environments where priorities can shift and problem-solving is critical. You will act as a central point of coordination across vendors, internal teams, and client stakeholders, helping keep projects on track while navigating approvals, compliance requirements, and evolving business needs. The team is looking for someone who can think on their feet, remove roadblocks, and maintain strong relationships across multiple partners while keeping initiatives moving forward.

This role will require someone to work onsite at their Downtown Phoenix office Tuesday - Thursday each week., Tech Breakdown

  • 40% Project / Program Delivery
  • 30% Vendor and Stakeholder Coordination
  • 30% Governance and Process Oversight

Daily Responsibilities

  • 60% Managing projects, tracking deliverables, and resolving blockers
  • 20% Working with vendors, stakeholders, and client teams
  • 20% Governance support, documentation, and reporting

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in project or program management within enterprise technology environments
  • Experience leading software, digital, or enterprise transformation initiatives
  • Strong vendor management experience and ability to coordinate third-party delivery partners
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments with technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, solve problems, and keep projects progressing despite challenges
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills with experience in client-facing or consulting-style roles
  • Experience working within governance, compliance, or approval-driven environments
  • Familiarity with tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, or similar

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with government entities or public sector organizations
  • Background in regulated environments such as financial services, healthcare, or consulting
  • Experience supporting governance-heavy or compliance-driven programs
  • Exposure to software delivery, application modernization, or digital transformation initiatives
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and delivery frameworks
  • Certifications such as PMP, Scrum, or SAFe
  • Experience driving process improvement or operational transformation initiatives
