Job description
We are seeking a hands-on Development Engineer for Magnetocaloric Cooling Systems. In this role, you will develop a deep understanding of magnetocaloric cooling. You will design, prototype, and optimize components critical to our magnetocaloric systems, transforming cutting-edge technology into market-ready products. You will take full ownership of your designs, working closely with an interdisciplinary team., * Design and develop integrable components for magnetocaloric cooling systems such as magnet assemblies, fluid systems, air distribution and electrical control systems.
- Create CAD models and efficient production data.
- Optimize components for mass production, ensuring a balance between performance, cost, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate closely with the tech team and product managers to design integrated solutions.
- Maintain product data, create and maintain BOMs, and support purchasing by obtaining supplier quotes for custom and standard parts.
- Create and maintain manufacturing guides for series production.
- Solve real-world engineering challenges in rapid development cycles.
Requirements
Do you have experience in SolidWorks?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping methods (3D printing, CNC machining, injection moulding, laser cutting, PCB soldering).
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, including tolerance analysis and design for manufacturability.
- Ability to quickly learn and understand the fundamentals of the magnetocaloric system.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, independent work ethic.
- Ability to deal with tight deadlines and continue to work in a focused manner.
B. Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 1-5 years of experience in hardware product development (internships and student projects or work groups all account for experience, feel free to list these in your CV).
- Experience with manufacturing processes (injection moulding, CNC machining, sheet metal, additive manufacturing).
- English speaking (C1+) as we are an international team; German skills (C1+) are also required for this position to work closely with local suppliers.
- Ability to work on-site with occasional flexibility for remote work (we are an office-first company).
