Network Security Engineer

Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more. Opticore IT are currently searching for a Senior Network Security Engineer who is operating as a Palo Alto SME , to come and join the team. You will join our excellent team on an initial 6-month contract with scope to extend, based in Central Europe. You'll be acting as the Subject Matter Expert for Palo Alto SASE, with a strong focus on Prisma Access. Leading the design, implementation, optimisation, and support of secure access solutions for enterprise customers. What You'll Be Doing Deliver end-to-end implementation of SASE / Zero Trust architectures Work closely with customers to understand business and technical requirements and translate them into secure network designs Configure and troubleshoot: GlobalProtect (remote access VPN) Service Connections & Remote Networks Security policies, NAT, and routing Integrate Prisma Access with existing infrastructure (e.g., firewalls, identity providers, SIEM tools) Provide technical workshops, knowledge transfer, and documentation to customers Support migration from legacy VPN or on-prem firewall solutions to cloud-delivered security Troubleshoot complex networking and security issues across hybrid environments Collaborate with internal teams (sales, support, project management) to ensure successful delivery Stay up to date with Palo Alto Networks technologies and SASE trends What You'll Bring Must be fluent in English, Spanish and/or Italian History of delivering major Prisma Access projects Strong experience with Palo Alto Networks technologies, especially Prisma Access and PAN-OS firewalls Solid understanding of Networking fundamentals (BGP, IPsec, routing, NAT), Security principles, zero trust, segmentation, threat prevention History of delivering customer-facing professional services engagements Hands-on experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Familiarity with authentication technologies (SAML, LDAP, MFA) Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Diversity At Opticore IT we embrace diversity and are committed to equal opportunities.
