Finance Transformation and Automation Lead

Role: Finance Transformation Consultant Role Type: Contract 3-6 months. May also consider permanent Madrid: Hybrid working - x2 days per week onsite in the office We're supporting a major international organisation in securing a hands-on Finance Transformation Lead for an immediate, high-impact contract engagement in Madrid. This role sits at the centre of a strategic finance change agenda, focused on improving end-to-end finance processes, strengthening controls, and driving operational efficiency across core finance cycles. You will assess current-state finance operations, identify inefficiencies, and help define scalable finance process improvements. Alongside this, you will support the shaping and prioritisation of a finance innovation pipeline, including automation, analytics, and AI-enabled use cases, working closely with Finance and Technology stakeholders. This role requires strong change-management skills and and a "hands-on" approach. Key areas of focus include: * End-to-end finance process redesign across core cycles (R2R, P2P, O2C etc.) * Identification of inefficiencies, control gaps, and opportunities for standardisation and automation * Development of target operating models and future-state finance processes * Prioritisation of finance transformation and innovation initiatives (automation, AI, analytics, workflow optimisation) * Translation of business needs into structured, scalable use cases and solution concepts * Cross-functional stakeholder engagement across internal and external stakeholders * Support for governance, controls, benefits tracking, and value realisation * Contribution to adoption and change management across multiple teams and geographies * Deliver training and actively encourage end-user adoption What we need from you (essential): * Finance qualification or strong understanding of finance processes (O2C, P2P, R2R etc). * Proven experience of delivering ERP or Finance Systems projects across Oracle Cloud, Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), SAP S/4HANA or another ERP solution * Hands-on approach to finance transformation and process improvement * Excellent communication and change management skills with proven understanding of how to increase user adoption * Ability to get strong buy-in with stakeholders * Professional-working level of English and Spanish (C1 and above) This is a hands-on transformation role suited to someone who can operate confidently across process, ERP technology, and senior stakeholder environments in a fast-paced, delivery-focused setting.
