Own the customer-facing layer of payments, handling payment methods, checkout, pricing, refunds, and fintech add-ons for 10,000+ companies. Responsibilities Drive the payments roadmap with finance-focused product managers and engineering managers, defining payment flows across setup, checkout, refunds, and add-ons. Write design documents and architect scalable, auditable payment systems with idempotent state machines. Coordinate cross-squad deliverables with Payments Governance and Payments Platform, lead incident response for production issues. Mentor peers on reliable financial system design and provide constructive feedback during design reviews. Advise on reliability, observability, SLOs, incident responses, and post-mortems. Apply security best practices, ensuring secrets hygiene and dependency risk management. Influence product roadmap with technical data and actively mentor engineering teams. Collaborate across teams to resolve technical blockers organization-wide. Qualifications Strong experience in product leadership: translating business goals into technical roadmaps and de-risking projects. Expertise in system architecture, building scalable and maintainable systems with performance and failure isolation. Track record in defining and upholding engineering standards: CI/CD, testing strategies, coding practices. Full-stack proficiency with deep expertise in either frontend or backend and ability to make architectural decisions. Operational maturity: observability, SRE practices, SLO definition, incident management, post-mortems. Security & risk management: secrets hygiene, dependency risk assessment. Mentorship and influence: leading design reviews, coaching peers, shaping roadmap. Cross-functional impact: coordinating multi-team delivery and stakeholder alignment. Experience or strong interest in AI-augmented workflows, agentic coding, and AI-powered code reviews. Working Conditions Hybrid model: in-person collaboration 3 days a week in the Barcelona hub.
