CTO hands-on

We are looking for a CTO hands-on to lead the development, infrastructure, and engineering execution of an AI-powered platform focused on elderly care and connected health services. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic ownership of platform architecture, deployment operations, and engineering culture. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to build scalable, reliable, and safety-oriented systems supporting AI capabilities in production environments. Responsibilities: Define and evolve the platform architecture, including cloud infrastructure, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, data layers, and device integrations. Build and maintain production environments for AI services using Google Cloud Platform, Vertex AI, Firestore, Firebase, and Cloud Functions. Lead and mentor a senior engineering team while establishing code quality standards, testing practices, and documentation processes. Design systems focused on scalability, reliability, monitoring, latency optimization, and operational safety for vulnerable user populations. Implement evaluation frameworks for conversational AI, including regression testing, CI/CD safety gates, and production monitoring. Communicate technical strategy, risks, and engineering progress to leadership, investors, and external partners. Requirements: Strong software engineering experience building and delivering complex B2C and/or B2B products. Hands-on experience operating production systems that integrate AI/ML components and AI-powered services. Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, including Firebase, Firestore, Vertex AI, and Cloud Functions. Proficiency in Python and modern backend, infrastructure, and DevOps tooling. Proven experience leading high-performance engineering teams and establishing strong technical standards. Valuable: experience with healthcare or wellness technology, AI orchestration frameworks, speech pipelines, IoT integrations, GDPR or AI Act compliance, and startup leadership environments.
