Server Engineer - £400/Day Inside IR35 - 4-Month Contract - Dumfries (Hybrid) - SCC Flex Contract

We are seeking an experienced Server Engineer with experience across HP Blades, VMware, and Windows Server to support and enhance critical server infrastructure.

Your responsibilities as the Server Engineer:

  • Manage, support, and maintain server infrastructure, including HP Blade systems
  • Administer and optimise virtual environments using VMware technologies
  • Install, configure, and support Windows Server environments across multiple versions
  • Deliver server upgrades, patches, and infrastructure improvements
  • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and resilience
  • Troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues efficiently
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver infrastructure projects and enhancements
  • Maintain documentation and adhere to best practices and security standards

As a successful Server Engineer, you will have:

  • Proven experience working as a Server Engineer in enterprise environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with HP Blades and server hardware
  • Solid expertise in VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter) administration
  • Extensive experience managing Windows Server environments
  • Experience with server performance optimisation and infrastructure improvements
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in hybrid environments and collaborate with stakeholders
