Job description
We are looking for a self-motivated Systems Technician educated to HNC level or with equivalent experience in electrical and electronic engineering, to work as part of our Technical Operations Team to work within Ulster Hospital. This role will involve supporting our customers and patients within Ulster Hospital. As a result, you'll need to be based within easy reach of Ulster Hospital to provide effective on-site support.
We require somebody who is used to a fast-paced environment, customer focused and able to build good working relationships with both internal colleagues and our customers. Ideally, we would like you to come from a background of working in a medical devices environment or in servicing medical equipment and have a natural emphasis on continual improvement.
This is a full-time role of 39 hours per week and may require occasional out-of-hours work, including evenings or weekends, though this is expected to be infrequent.
What does the role involve?
You will:
- Ensure that all reactive customer support, installation and evaluation requirements are completed in line with FME policies and procedures.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained to a high standard, maximising uptime and reliability through planned preventative maintenance and timely corrective actions.
- Follow all company and hospital procedures, including FME policies, quality standards, and 'Lean Service' processes within a workshop setting.
- Accurately complete all service records, test documentation, and maintenance reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
- Support the testing, calibration, and verification of equipment prior to return to clinical use.
- Assist with technical upgrades, modifications, and refurbishment of equipment within the workshop.
- Contribute to the acceptance, inspection, and commissioning preparation of new equipment before deployment.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Software deployment?, * HNC (or equivalent experience) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering; strong MS Office skills
- Experience with electromechanical systems in a regulated, customer-facing environment (medical/NHS/HSE desirable)
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organised, and able to work under pressure
- Strong communication skills and ability to read technical schematics
- Work onsite at Ulster Hospital
