Job description

  • To work within the Implementation team, taking responsibility for all aspects of testing
  • To take a lead role in supporting Clients and Client Implementation acceptance testing, helping meet clients' entry criteria and expectations.
  • To contribute towards continual improvements, effectiveness and quality of testing as part of the overall product delivery & implementation lifecycle, * Work closely with members of the MSO Client programme team to fully understand the functional and business requirements of a client's implementation.
  • Lead implementation test campaigns, taking ownership of the design, planning, execution and quality assurance of the deliverables as well as leading the defect management activities for that campaign
  • Design test strategies for all aspects of testing required - adhering to the overall MSO Implementations Test Strategy.
  • Execute testing in accordance with the delivery schedule, including both manual testing and the use of automated testing tools.
  • Report on progress during test campaigns and contribute towards client-facing test completion reports.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of automated regression suites.
  • Provide input into the assessment of test outcomes and overall quality measures for a test campaign, helping stakeholders make key delivery decisions and assess risks/issues.
  • Ensure defects raised during implementation test campaigns are effectively logged, and assist in the assessment & triage of client-raised defects.
  • Engagement with clients, supporting their triage activities (similarly 3rd parties where appropriate) where required
  • Provide test input into CR impact assessments.
  • Establishing efficiencies and de-duplication of test activities across the Product Delivery and Client Implementation phase, providing input into the development of the Implementation test approach.
  • Manage issues and risks proactively, escalating where appropriate to the Client Implementation workstream leads.
  • Proactively manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring realistic achievable targets are set and managed.
  • As required, provide client consultancy and represent MSO off-site with clients.
  • Actively supporting continual improvements, standardisation across clients, establishing efficiencies and optimising Implementation processes
  • Developing others and sharing knowledge around Implementation Test practices and standards

Key Relationships

  • MSO Clients - Working with our clients to support all areas of MSO Testing as required, travelling off-site where required
  • Implementation Manager/Lead - working with the Implementation management team to ensure all deliverables of the role are achieved
  • Implementation team - working in conjunction with all members of the Implementation team, across various work streams and including the Test Working Group
  • Product and Engineering teams - working with the Product and Engineering teams as required to ensure the MSO Programme Test strategy is followed, ensure good coverage of testing throughout & share best practices and tools
  • MSO Consultancy - working with the Client Delivery BCs & TCs during various activities to ensure the client-facing activities in particular are carried out in a consistent and joined-up approach

Requirements

  • ISEB/ISTQB Certification in Software Testing - Practitioner.
  • Strong 'delivery' focus, with good awareness and appreciation of client demands and challenges.
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Strong communication skills, internally and externally.
  • Experience in coordinating test teams/activities.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in all aspects of MSO software testing, including automation
  • Excellent test analysis skills with the ability to work in a non-scripted environment
  • Good knowledge of delivery and quality processes, across all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Understanding of different software development methodologies and approaches and the role that testing plays within them.
