On a day-to-day basis, the ideal candidate will primarily analyze overhead satellite imagery to identify, collect, and update geospatial features. Responsibilities include adding new features, updating existing data, and uploading accurate geospatial information to support ongoing mapping efforts. The individual will contribute to projects supporting the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), working with a wide range of global geographic features. This is an unclassified opportunity that offers hands-on experience in real-world GIS applications within a collaborative team environment.
Requirements
A client of Insight Global is seeking a GIS Technician to support geospatial data initiatives. The ideal candidate will be an entry-level professional, typically early in their career or recently graduated, with foundational experience in GIS tools such as ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap through coursework or internships. This individual will be highly computer literate, with the ability to efficiently navigate file structures, manage data, and work within digital environments. Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn are essential, as this role does not require advanced technical expertise but does require reliability and adaptability., * Exposure to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) through academic coursework, internship experience, or professional work
