Job description
This engineer will focus on maximizing the performance of high-compute systems supporting advanced workloads, including AI-driven applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing how systems behave under heavy processing loads, optimizing performance across CPU and GPU architectures, and working with engineering teams to push hardware to its operational limits. The role requires a strong understanding of how compute systems function at a system level-particularly around multithreading and parallel execution-while evaluating software and system configurations to ensure optimal performance. This individual will support ongoing modernization efforts and help enable future AI capabilities across the platform.
Requirements
Must Have:
- Strong experience with high-performance computing (HPC) systems or high-end compute hardware
- Solid understanding of how microprocessors (CPU, GPU, FPGA) function at a system level (no design required)
- Hands-on experience working with or optimizing GPU-based systems (ex: NVIDIA platforms)
- Experience analyzing or improving system performance under heavy compute loads (AI/ML workloads, parallel processing, etc.)
- Familiarity with multithreading and parallel processing concepts
- Strong experience working in Linux environments
- Ability to evaluate, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance without necessarily writing core software
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Plusses:
- Experience working with AI/ML workloads or high-performance compute environments
- Exposure to FPGA-based systems
- Background in automotive compute platforms (ECUs) or ruggedized systems (LRUs)
- Familiarity with Board Support Packages (BSPs)
- Experience supporting or optimizing end-to-end system performance across hardware + software stack
