Job description
Day to Day: This engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing mesh-based wireless communication systems that enable secure, resilient data transmission across distributed nodes. The role focuses on adapting mesh networking concepts-commonly used in highly secure or military environments-into a demonstrator vehicle platform. Day-to-day work includes developing and testing data transmission via radio communications and mesh network. The objective is to ensure reliable connectivity across varying conditions while implementing encryption to protect data transmitted over the air. The engineer will collaborate closely with hardware and embedded teams to integrate networking capabilities into a vehicle system, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and optimize performance for real-world use cases.
Requirements
Must Have:
- Experience with wireless, radio, or mesh networking technologies (Wi-Fi Mesh or similar)
- Good understanding of wireless communication protocols (time sensitive network)
- Experience working with radio communications and wireless encryption technologies
- Ability to design and troubleshoot radio and wireless communication systems, * Experience building or prototyping connected devices (ex: IoT, embedded systems, radio-based solutions)
- Familiarity with military-grade or secure communication architectures
- Experience integrating wireless systems into vehicles or embedded platforms
- Understanding of interference mitigation and network resiliency in dynamic environments
- DoD or defense-related experience (not required)
Benefits & conditions
$35/hr to $40/hr
