Job description
Kforce is immediately seeking a Data Center & Security Network Engineer in support our enterprise storage and compute client based in Frisco, TX. Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and support enterprise and data center network infrastructure utilizing leaf-spine architectures and EVPN-VXLAN
- Configure and troubleshoot routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, RIP, and multicast
- Manage and optimize Juniper (QFX5120/5130), Arista, and HPE Aruba network environments
- Perform advanced troubleshooting across TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP (Infoblox, BIND), VPNs, and IP addressing (IPv4/IPv6)
- Implement and maintain network security controls including firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point), IPS/IDS, ACLs, and device hardening
- Support SD-WAN, QoS, VLANs, NAT, and policy-based routing for performance and traffic optimization
- Monitor and analyze network performance using tools such as SolarWinds, NetFlow, and application monitoring platforms
- Execute changes in complex production environments with focus on availability, scalability, and stability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve network incidents and infrastructure issues
- Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in network engineering within enterprise or data center environments
- Strong expertise in EVPN-VXLAN, leaf-spine architectures, and modern data center design
- Advanced knowledge of routing/switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, multicast)
- Hands-on experience with Juniper and Arista switches; HPE Aruba networking technologies
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, IP management, and network infrastructure
- Experience with network security technologies including firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPNs, and SIEM
- Proficiency with QoS, VLANs, ACLs, NAT, wireless (802.11), and network segmentation
- Experience with SDN/SD-WAN technologies and data center network operations
- Familiarity with monitoring and troubleshooting tools (SolarWinds, NetFlow)
- Knowledge of structured cabling and network facilities
- Strong documentation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
