Job description
As a Software Development Lead, you will serve as a subject matter expert responsible for developing and configuring software systems throughout the product lifecycle. You will lead the design and implementation of innovative Guidewire solutions while managing team decisions and stakeholder expectations. This role requires a blend of high-level technical architecture and hands-on mentorship to ensure project goals are met within a collaborative environment., * Lead the design and implementation of innovative software solutions that meet client needs.
- Facilitate team meetings to encourage collaboration and ensure alignment on project goals.
- Mentor team members to enhance their skills and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Analyze project requirements and translate them into technical specifications for the development team.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve system performance and user experience.
- Responsible for team decisions, managing stakeholders, and contributing to key decisions., * Lead the design, implementation, and integration of Guidewire PolicyCenter solutions.
- Translate complex project requirements into clear technical specifications for development teams.
- Mentor junior developers and facilitate collaborative team meetings.
- Evaluate new technologies to optimize system performance and user experience.
- Manage stakeholder communication regarding technical decisions and project milestones.

The HM is specifically looking for a Player-Coach who has moved beyond legacy messaging into the modern Guidewire Cloud Integration Gateway (IG) and App Events framework.
Requirements
- PolicyCenter experience
- Guidewire DEVELOPMENT experience and Integration - not just support. Must be able to develop Guidewire code and APIs, etc.
- Must be Guidewire certified, not Specialist certified. +1 if they are ACE Certified.
- Must be in or willing to relo to Hartford, Atlanta or Maryland (3 days on site).
- Must be hands on, but also able to lead a small offshore team., A Player-Coach needs to be able to open the code and fix a broken Apache Camel route in the Integration Gateway.
- Strong Guidewire (GW) skills, as detailed in the JD
- Hybrid work (3 days onsite)
- Active Guidewire certifications (required)
- Technical Lead experience (minimum of 2 years)
- Strong hands-on experience and ability to answer technical questions
- Level 8 profile (approximately 5 8 years of experience)

- App Events: Focused on event-driven architecture (webhooks/REST) in recent cloud versions (Niseko, Oulu, or Las Lenas).
- APD Maturity: Experience must include using Advanced Product Designer for active code/entity generation, not just product modeling.
Hybrid work (3 days onsite) - Hartford, CT; Hunt Valley, MD; St Paul, MN; Atlanta, GA.
Strictly Required (Non-Negotiable)
- Guidewire PolicyCenter Configuration Cloud Version: Must be current (e.g., Niseko, Oulu, or Las Lenas). An on-premise version 10 certification is no longer sufficient for this cloud-native req.
Preferred "Gold Standard" (The Tie-Breakers)
- Guidewire ACE (PolicyCenter or Integration): This is the highest level of technical validation. If they have an ACE cert + Cloud experience, move them to the top of the pile.
- Guidewire Cloud Technical Certification: Specifically validates their knowledge of the Cloud Assurance API (CAA) and Integration Gateway.
- AWS Certified Developer/Architect: Since Guidewire Cloud runs on AWS, this is a massive "Nice-to-Have" that the HM will value for infrastructure-related tasks., * Guidewire PolicyCenter (Expert/P4) 8+ years
