Job description
Architect role in a hybrid work model focusing on design and delivery of scalable mobile applications using Swift UI and related Apple technologies ensuring secure high-quality solutions. The role involves close collaboration with cross functional teams to build robust features, optimize app performance and implement automated testing for reliable customer experience in cards and payments domain., * Design, develop, and unit-test new features, enhancements, and customer-specific extensions within the ACI MTS core product.
- Contribute to scheme compliance releases for SWIFT CBPR+, SEPA, TARGET2, FedWire, CHIPS, CHAPS, TCH RTP, and FedNow.
- Build and evolve integration components connecting MTS to SWIFT Alliance (SAA/SAG), MQ-based gateways, REST/SOAP services, and customer surround systems.
- Implement and maintain SWIFT MT and ISO 20022 (pacs, pain, camt) message processing, including MX-MT translation and gpi/UETR handling.
- Participate in customer implementation projects, including configuration, customization, and L3 production support escalations.
- Collaborate with QEA and DevOps teams to ensure code quality, automated test coverage, and smooth CI/CD delivery.
- Prepare technical design documents, interface specifications, and contribute to product documentation consumed by customers and ACI implementation partners.
- Work within SAFe Agile release trains; participate in PI planning, estimation, code reviews, and sprint ceremonies., * End-to-end high-value and cross-border payment lifecycle: initiation, validation, sanctions, FX, liquidity check, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling.
- Instant payments semantics (TCH RTP, SEPA Inst, FedNow): request-response timing, timeout handling, and reversal flows.
- Liquidity, cash, and nostro/vostro management concepts.
- Familiarity with ACI's broader product portfolio (Enterprise Payments Platform, Low Value Real-Time Payments, ACI Worldwide Payments Orchestration) is a plus.
Requirements

Cognizant will not sponsor work authorization for this role., * ACI MTS core stack: Hands-on experience with MTS configuration, rule sets, message profiles, party setup, repair queues, and workflow customization.
- HP NonStop (Tandem) platform: Strong proficiency in Java, TAL, COBOL85, TACL, SCOBOL, Pathway, Enscribe, SQL/MP, and TS/MP. Working knowledge of NonStop OSS.
- Messaging & integration: IBM MQ, XML/XSD/XSLT, JSON, REST and SOAP web services.
- Payment messaging standards: SWIFT MT (1xx, 2xx, 9xx series), ISO 20022 (pacs.008/009/002/004, pain.001/002, camt.052/053/054/056), SEPA SCT/SDD/SCT Inst schemas.
- SWIFT infrastructure: Working knowledge of SAA, SAG, HSM, SWIFTNet InterAct/FileAct, and gpi tracker/UETR handling.
- Clearing schemes: Practical exposure to at least two of FedWire, CHIPS, CHAPS, TARGET2, SEPA, TCH RTP, FedNow.
- Databases: SQL/MP on NonStop; familiarity with Oracle or MS SQL for surround systems.
- DevOps & tooling: Git/Bitbucket, Jenkins or Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence; shell scripting on NonStop and Linux., * Prior experience as an ACI MTS implementation consultant at a bank or partner.
- ACI internal certification or formal training on MTS / BASE24.
- SAFe Practitioner / SAFe Agilist certification.
Exposure to cloud-hosted deployments of payment workloads (AWS/Azure) and containerization of surround components.
