Join Clover as a Release Manager and play a key role in delivering seamless software releases that power the commerce experiences of hundreds of thousands of merchants. As part of our Release Engineering team, you'll help orchestrate complex, full-stack releases across custom hardware, cloud-based POS software, and a thriving App Market.
At Clover, we are evolving our release lifecycle with Artificial Intelligence. We are looking for a forward-thinking Release Manager who leverages AI tooling and workflow automation to eliminate manual toil, predict release risks, and accelerate our delivery velocity.
What You Will Do
- AI-Driven Orchestration: Utilize AI assistants (such as Google Gemini and GitHub Copilot) to automate release documentation, summarize change logs, and streamline communication across global teams.
- Workflow Automation: Identify, design, and implement AI-powered workflow automations to streamline the intake process, triage release blockers, and optimize repeatable deployment tasks.
- Manage End-to-End Workflows: Coordinate closely with technical leads, product owners, and QA to ensure seamless software delivery across our distributed ecosystem.
- Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement in release planning and delivery-you are always looking for smarter, faster (AI-augmented), and more reliable ways to get code into production.
- Risk Mitigation: Flag risks early using data-driven insights; manage scope changes and solve release-related issues before they impact the merchant experience.
- Release Readiness & Governance: Run milestone reviews and represent the team in weekly CAB (Change Advisory Board) meetings, ensuring every deployment is backed by thorough planning and stakeholder alignment.
- Configuration Management: Provide guidance to development and QA teams on best practices for source control and configuration management within a CI/CD framework., * This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
- This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's STEM major, or equivalent experience.
- Core Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Release Manager working with technical teams developing software solutions.
- AI Tooling Proficiency: Proven experience using Generative AI tools (Gemini, ChatGPT, or GitHub Copilot) to augment productivity, automate documentation, or assist in technical troubleshooting.
- Automation Mindset: Demonstrated experience with AI Workflow Automation (e.g., using AI to automate status reporting, Slack/Jira integrations, or release notes generation).
- DevOps Ecosystem: Experience with tools such as Git, Jenkins, Gerrit, or Puppet to support build, integration, and deployment pipelines.
- SDLC Depth: Deep knowledge of the software development lifecycle and experience applying Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Technical Literacy: Basic understanding of database design (SQL) and Web Services (REST/SOAP).
What Would Be Great to Have
- Advanced AI Implementation: Experience building or utilizing custom AI agents to monitor release health or perform sentiment analysis on QA feedback.
- Payments Expertise: Previous experience working with Point of Sale (POS) systems or in the payments industry.
- CI/CD Maturity: Familiarity with high-availability or business-critical software systems and distributed multi-module applications.
- DORA Metrics focus: A passion for improving deployment efficiency using data-driven performance metrics., * You must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role. Salary Range $104,000.00 - $160,800.00
These pay ranges apply to employees in Sunnyvale, California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
