Job description

  • Support continuous monitoring of networks and systems to keep our hospital community safe
  • Help prepare and execute incident response actions so security incidents are identified quickly
  • Investigate indicators of compromise and validate real security threats
  • Assist with containment and eradication strategies to neutralize cyber threats
  • Participate in post-incident reviews to strengthen our defenses and prevent repeat issues
  • Create clear documentation and summary reports that support leadership decisions
  • Stay current with the latest cyber security trends and bring fresh ideas back to the team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least one year of hands-on experience in information systems security
  • Background in intrusion detection monitoring, incident response, threat research, or cyber intelligence analysis is highly valued
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent industry credential is a plus
  • Comfortable working in an on-call rotation when needed

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent education, training, or work experience

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong ability to analyze and correlate security data from multiple sources
  • Research skills to identify industry-standard security solutions
  • Clear and effective writing and communication about technical topics
  • Solid documentation practices
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, Data Loss Prevention, Encryption, Vulnerability Management, IDS/IPS, VPN, Linux, Windows, MFA, CASB, EDR, and SIEM tools
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and audit requirements is helpful
