Job description
- Lead the technical development of overall precommercial Corn acre solutions (including germplasm/trait deployment strategy, CP, SGR, and digital innovation) and the deployment of those solutions to meet customers' needs;
- Ensure Features and Benefits of products/solutions are clearly defined, articulated, and valued by creating and implementing a thorough testing/data analysis strategy;
- Ensure that Technical Product Stewardship and FTO regulatory processes are followed;
- Oversee development of the pre-commercial (PCM3/PCM4) hybrid and inbred crop plan to support testing and commercial launch needs;
- Oversee analysis of new product, price to performance relationships to ensure equitable, cross-brand, new product pricing;
- Lead future product/solutions needs assessment and prioritization in collaboration with Crop Team, R&D, Breeding and Customer Facing Teams;
- Lead proactive and contingency efforts to solve broad agronomic issues;
- Coach and collaborate with Corn Technical Product Experts that sit on Seed Portfolio & Solution Launch sub teams responsible for managing our Corn acre solutions and Corn seed portfolios; Develop these high potential individuals as future leaders of the business;
- Lead Bayer product/solution performance monitoring and assessment vs competitive platforms using all available resources, including Climate; Provide insights and recommendations to key stakeholders to maximize our advantages and minimize threats;
- Provide leadership on the Corn Acre Strategy team to support development of current year and mid to long-term plans;
- Collaborate with key stakeholders such as Academics, Licensee Leadership, Industry Affairs and Global Bayer peers; Serve as Bayer's key commercial point of contact for third-party products/solutions.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience leading and influencing activities of cross-functional teams without direct reporting relationships;
- Ability to lead and influence key stakeholders through challenges and opportunities; facilitates solutions;
- Analytical, ability to demonstrate critical thinking across complex situations;
- Experience developing and executing scientifically sound testing protocols;
- Advanced understanding of statistics and data analysis;
- Mastery of MS Excel and other data analysis or visualization tools (Spotfire, Domino, Tableau, etc.);
- Results orientation with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously;
- Excellent oral, written and communication skills to onboard, motivate & engage others at all levels of the organization;
- Strong skills with data management tools and experience in summarizing data;
- Masters' degree in a science related field., * 10+ years of experience in a technical or agronomy role with experience leading teams or projects in row crops;
- An understanding of Plant Breeding and modern techniques to implement;
- Crop protection functional knowledge;
- Experience with programming and modeling (R, Python, etc.);
- Ph.D. in a science related field.
Benefits & conditions
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $178,880.00 to $268,320.00.
