Job description

Embracing Service, Inspiring Innovation, Promoting Teamwork, Pursuing Excellence, and Advancing Equity Under supervision, serves as the primary point of contact to vendor and DPH IT for all system issues, fixes, and updates. Routinely communicates with Vital Statistics leadership (the Directors) to ensure all system modules are functioning correctly. Makes recommendations for process/system improvements to the Director. Manages a system team to support the South Carolina Vital Records and Statistics Integrated Information System (SCVRSIIS) system.

  • Oversees a team of program assistants to maintain, clean and update the South Carolina Vital Records and Statistics Integrated Information System (SCVRSIIS) system including user maintenance updates, table maintenance, configuration updates, communication with database team, and other system related functions. Works with field consultant staff to obtain updated roles of users/facilities across the state.

Monitors system help desk email and phone number for customer issues to ensure timely filing of records or other system problems and alerts the director in a timely manner. Ensures that this email is monitored by the team 24/7 and responded to in a timely manner. Communicates with the vendor or DPH IT as needed when a fix is not already available. Participates in all system update related meetings.

Responds to requests for system assistance from other program areas in a timely manner. Serves as primary contact for system updates,maintenance, downtime, etc. and communicates with all teams of necessary tasks by email.

Maintains and updates system documentation, (guides, access forms, etc.) and keeps a record of new user access requests and other system changes for historical records.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Team supervision?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, State Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.

Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Agency Additional Requirements: Five (5) years experience in an IT setting. One (1) year supervisory experience or approved equivalency. Additional relevant IT experience may be substituted in lieu of bachelor's degree in an IT related field.

Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered in meeting the minimum qualifications, subject to approval by the DPH Chief Human Resources Officer, or their delegate. Please note that the agency will require an official, certified copy of the transcript or diploma prior to hiring., Five (5) years supervisory experience in an IT setting. Vital Records system or program experience., DRIVING RECORD: If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver's license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant, being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record.
