Job description
The Product Owner is a critical member of the solution delivery team, partnering closely with the Product Manager and business stakeholders to translate business objectives into high-value solutions. This role is responsible for guiding the agile team throughout the development lifecycle by defining priorities, managing the product backlog, and ensuring delivered solutions align with strategic goals and business needs.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the product, ensuring delivery of measurable business value
- Proactively gather and incorporate user feedback to validate that solutions meet end-user needs
- Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and success criteria
- Collaborate with the Product Manager to shape and refine the product roadmap
- Engage stakeholders and cross-functional partners in scope definition, dependency management, and requirements refinement
- Establish clear project goals, sprint objectives, and user acceptance criteria
- Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring well-defined and actionable requirements
- Actively identify and help remove impediments impacting team progress
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute product releases
- Evaluate risks and benefits of product enhancements and drive alignment across stakeholders, business partners, and product leadership
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner
- 2-5 years of supervisory experience
- Experience in agile and scrum development organization, writing Epics, Features and User Stories and defining process flows
- Proven ability in translating business needs into product specifications and understanding business applications from a functional and technical perspective
- Familiarity with the Atlassian product suite (JIRA, Confluence)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Certified Product Owner (PMPO preferred)
- Knowledge of agile methodologies (SAFe preferred)
- Solid understanding of the insurance industry is a plus
