About the Role: We are seeking a BAS Systems Specialist to support the installation, programming, commissioning, and service of commercial building automation systems across a variety of facility types throughout Southern Connecticut. This role will work closely with project managers, engineers, and customers to deliver high-quality HVAC controls and systems integration solutions.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with BAS/DDC systems, controls integration, and troubleshooting complex HVAC systems in commercial environments. Responsibilities
- Program, troubleshoot, commission, and service building automation and HVAC control systems
- Support BAS/DDC system integrations involving HVAC equipment, lighting controls, and energy management systems
- Perform point-to-point checkout, startup, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance activities
- Interpret mechanical drawings, control schematics, sequences of operation, and engineering documentation
- Configure and troubleshoot BACnet, Modbus, and IP-based control networks
- Work closely with project teams to support new construction, retrofit, and upgrade projects
- Provide technical support to customers and respond to service-related issues in the field
- Assist with graphics, trending, alarms, and front-end configuration within BAS platforms
- Document service activity, system changes, and project progress accurately
- Maintain strong customer relationships through responsive communication and technical support
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with BAS/BMS, HVAC controls, or systems integration
- Experience with DDC controls, field devices, controllers, and networked building systems
- Familiarity with Niagara/Tridium, Distech, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Alerton, or similar BAS platforms
- Understanding of BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP networking, and controls communication protocols
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and controls-related issues independently
- Experience reading mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license required
