Job description

The SharePoint / Enterprise Architect leads all technology assessment, SharePoint development, and enterprise architecture activities under VISION Tasks 1 and 4. This role assesses NCHS business needs for migrating and reengineering existing SharePoint solutions, provides enterprise and system architecture guidance aligned with CDC OCIO standards, integrates shared microservices as part of modernization initiatives, and develops and maintains data architecture strategies, frameworks, and roadmaps consistent with federal policy. The Architect also leads Microsoft Power Platform implementation - PowerApps, Power Automate, SharePoint custom components, Dynamics, Microsoft Teams, and Azure integrations - and provides architecture design, configuration, administration, and functional support to enhance NCHS Microsoft 365 capabilities. All work is executed within the CDC EPLC framework and in coordination with CDC Enterprise Architects, the NCHS ISSO, and OIGA leadership., * Assess NCHS business needs for migration or reengineering of existing SharePoint solutions; produce written assessments documenting recommended path (migration, enhancement, or replacement) before any development begins

  • Provide enterprise and system architecture guidance on IT solutions, data management, business alignment, and strategy in accordance with CDC OCIO standards and long-term architecture roadmap
  • Integrate shared microservices as part of modernization initiatives using containerized architecture patterns (Docker, AWS ECS, REST APIs)
  • Create prototypes and samples for COR and program customer review as part of modernization planning prior to full development
  • Develop and maintain data architecture strategies, frameworks, and roadmaps aligned with federal policies and CDC cloud guidance
  • Design, configure, deploy, and administer SharePoint solutions including custom components, connectors, and site collection administration to meet program requirements
  • Lead Microsoft Power Platform implementation - PowerApps, Power Automate, SharePoint, Dynamics, Microsoft Teams - with managed environment configuration, security, integration, and deployment
  • Provide architecture design and functional support to enhance Microsoft 365 capabilities and identify opportunities to leverage Power Platform for business process improvement
  • Develop and update enterprise architecture artifacts to enable timely modernization of NCHS information management services
  • Evaluate computing environments related to data architecture and cloud solutions; produce technical reports for OIGA and program customers
  • Submit bi-weekly performance reports detailing tasks, issues, solutions, and dates by the 5th of each month per PWS Task 1 deliverable schedule
  • Participate in EPLC stage-gate reviews and produce all required EPLC artifacts at designated intervals

Requirements

Do you have experience in Web services design?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Minimum 8 years of experience in SharePoint development, migration, and enterprise architecture within federal environments

  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Power Platform suite with Azure integrations: PowerApps, Power Automate, SharePoint, Dynamics, Microsoft Teams, custom development, and data integrations
  • Experience serving as SharePoint Site Collection Administrator and/or SharePoint Administrator on federal programs
  • Proficiency in microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, AWS ECS), and REST API design and integration
  • Experience with CDC, HHS, or equivalent civilian agency enterprise architecture governance frameworks and EPLC requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct current-state assessments and produce formal architecture recommendations for government review and approval
  • Familiarity with CDC OCIO enterprise architecture standards and cloud platform guidance

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field required; Master's degree preferred
  • Microsoft Certified: SharePoint or Microsoft 365 certification - required
  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications (e.g., PL-100, PL-200, PL-400) - strongly preferred
  • AWS or Azure cloud certifications - preferred

Work Authorization:

Must be authorized to work in the United States. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust / Moderate Risk Tier 2 background investigation. Must be able to obtain HSPD-12/PIV card if required for facility or network access.
