Job description
Under the direction of the SHCS Director of Support Services and Data Management, supports the design, building, testing, implementation, and management of clinical application systems, including the Electronic Health Record (EHR), and Laboratory Information System (LIS). Provides support to clinical users through knowledge of clinical processes, documentation needs, workflows, and clinical practice standards, adapting software configurations to meet their needs. Works with clinicians to create or update written protocols. Prepares detailed specs encompassing clinical processes, information flow, risk, and impact analysis. Provides customer service, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Performs data analysis and reporting as needed to support SHCS clinical and business functions. This position is responsible for critically important data file transfers to insurance carriers and to Banner, the campus Student Information System., * 90% - Clinical And Systems Operational Support And Functional Analysis
- 10% - Access Management, Employment contingent upon satisfactory completion of a physical exam by Occupational Health physician to ascertain clearance from communicable disease and physical ability to perform the duties of this position. Required to participate in mandatory regulatory training. Work hours based on operational requirements, typically between 7:30 am and 6:00 pm, not to exceed 8 hours per day. Flexibility to work outside standard schedule including occasional evenings/nights, weekend and holidays to meet operational needs.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or equivalent combination of education and experience in relatable field.
- Experience with HIPAA, FERPA and other applicable federal and state medical information confidentiality and security requirements.
- Computer skills to work across a multi-platform environment (Linux, Mac, and Windows) using databases, spreadsheets, word processing, email and web browsers.
- Ability to write sql queries, translate business requirements into technical reports, explain findings to non-technical stakeholds, reconciling report outputs against source systems, with strong data visualization and dashboard design skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively, train, support, and work collaboratively with users of clinical information systems at all professional and technical levels.
- Strong problem-resolution skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose problems, and develop, test, and implement appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to convey technical information and instructions to all levels of clinical applications users in a specific, clear, and concise manner.
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge in documentation and reporting, with the ability to design and execute tests, analyze system performance data, and produce substantive reports and analyses., * Experience working with multiple data sources to reconcile records and processes across various database systems; skills to recognize actual from potential data problems.
- Experience writing sql queries (SELECT statements, joins, aggregations and subqueries), translating business requirements/requests into technical queries, explaining technical findings to non-technical stakeholders and reconciling report outputs against source systems.
- Broad and/or in-depth knowledge of 1-2 areas of focus in Practice Management Database and/or Electronic Medical Record Systems.
