Job description

Capgemini is seeking a highly experienced GCP API Solution Architect with strong data engineering expertise to lead complex cloud data and API initiatives. This role will focus on designing and modernizing scalable, secure, and API-driven data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), supporting enterprise analytics, integration, and AI use cases.

Your Role

As a GCP API Solution Architect, you will:

Lead end-to-end solution and API architecture for cloud data platforms on Google Cloud Platform

Define and govern reference architectures, API patterns, and best practices for data ingestion, processing, storage, and analytics

Architect and guide implementation of batch and streaming pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Dataproc, and Composer

Design API-led integration architectures using Apigee and cloud-native services

Enable modern data lakehouse and data warehouse architectures aligned with analytics, reporting, and AI/ML use cases

Ensure alignment with data governance, quality, lineage, security, and compliance standards

Design infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform

Collaborate with platform teams on CI/CD, DataOps, monitoring, and operational excellence

Apply GCP security best practices including IAM, networking, encryption, and compliance

Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions

Act as a trusted advisor for cloud data modernization and GCP best practices

Support solution design activities including architecture reviews, estimates, and technical proposals

Requirements

10+ years of overall IT experience with 5+ years in cloud data architecture

Proven experience designing and delivering GCP-based data and API platforms

Strong background in large-scale enterprise data programs

Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform, including:

BigQuery, Cloud Storage

Dataflow (Apache Beam), Pub/Sub

Dataproc (Spark), Composer (Airflow)

Strong experience with API architecture and management, including Apigee

Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT, streaming architectures, and SQL

Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, and DataOps practices

Exposure to AI/ML enablement on GCP (Vertex AI is a plus)

Google Professional Data Engineer - Preferred

Google Professional Cloud Architect - Preferred

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Experience working with global and distributed teams

Passion for innovation, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement

Benefits & conditions

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is $88,544 to $207,401

Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.

The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
