UW Information Technology has an outstanding opportunity for a Workday Procurement Application Engineer to join their team., Reporting to a Technology Manager in Data and Applications, the Workday Procurement Application Engineer will support Tier 3 Application Management functions in Workday Finance, a cloud-based finance software system. More specific responsibilities will include coordinating with other Workday Finance Application Management team members to analyze/troubleshoot complex system issues, supporting the configuration and implementation changes to the Workday application, participating in testing/validation of functionality changes, documenting and communicating changes, and collaborating with reporting and integration teams. In performing these duties, the incumbent will analyze business problems and processes to identify functional and non-functional solutions supporting the needs of the University., Workday Configuration (40%)
Leverage knowledge across the spectrum of Workday business process and technical inter-dependencies, utilizing understanding of foundational design concepts, data conventions and workflow dependencies
Operational Support (40%)
Coordinate closely with business owners, tier 2, and other tier 3 resources across the Workday Finance spectrum to troubleshoot Workday Finance system issues, identify resolutions and communicate results
Knowledge Management, Training & Communication (20%)
Maintain productive relationships with designated stakeholders to understand Finance domain policies, procedures and established standards, UW Information Technology (UW-IT) is the central information technology organization for the University of Washington, responsible for strategic planning, oversight, and direction of the UW's IT infrastructure, resources, and services. UW-IT provides critical technology support to all three campuses, UW Medicine, and research operations around the world, partnering with the UW community to enable innovation, learning, discovery, and service."
UW-IT Workday Operations supports the University's faculty, staff and student workers by configuring and supporting UW's Workday platform. Within UW-IT Workday Operations the Workday Finance Application Management team supports Workday Finance modules such as Procurment, Grants, Banking/Settlement, and Core Finance. The hallmarks of UW-IT Workday Operations are delivering services that are timely, accurate and highly attuned to the fast-paced university environment.
Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity your application must demonstrate you meet both the minimum qualifications and additional qualifications listed below. Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration., Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information science, or a related field or experience.
Minimum three years of experience in the following
- Experience with SaaS products such as Workday Finance.
- Experience working with enterprise Finance systems and the configuration and maintenance thereof, including working specifically with the Workday Finance (or similar) Procurment, Supply Chain, Accounts Payable, or Supplier Contracts modules.
- Experience analyzing Finance business processes and documenting requirements.
- Experience supporting system testing and/or data validation activities, including developing and maintaining manual and automated test scripts.
- Experience with reporting, data, and security in a SaaS environment.
- Demonstrated ability to understand business and technical design considerations and facilitate problem solving/issue resolution in the context of a customer service frame.
- Ability to communicate clearly, in writing and in verbal presentations, to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience interacting with customers, including resolution of complex inquiries and efficient performance during high-volume timeframes.
- Experience providing production support of mission critical systems.
- Demonstrated written/oral communication, technical documentation, user liaising, and personal interaction abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience performing configuration working in an Agile environment such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Experience playing an individual contributor role within a shared services environment.
- Working experience executing relevant business processes at the University of Washington or in a comparable higher education environment.
- Experience in the use of customer support infrastructure tools, including a case management system, knowledge base and associated reporting tool.
