The New Mexico State Department of Information Technology endeavors to provide the highest levels of service delivery for Mission Critical Radio System and Wireless Communications to Regional, Local Government, Federal and Tribal Agencies for Law Enforcement, First Responder, Critical Services, and Public Works entities located and operating within the geographic areas of the State of New Mexico. The IT Land Mobile Radio Systems Support Specialist II works together with Radio Shop Team members to meet our customers' needs, collaborate on scheduling and working together on rolling call back after-hours schedule. This includes the physical installation, repair and replacement of equipment, and the troubleshooting of complex two-way land mobile radio systems and services. How does it get done?
The IT Public Safety Radio and Microwave Technician II is responsible for performing technical and administrative support to the enterprise land mobile radio, voice and data systems provided and maintained by the Department of Information Technology. This position operates under general direction of a supervisor. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Practiced in using the Microsoft Office Operating System and be skillful in using applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel (Experience and practice in using Power Point, Visio, and other applications is also a plus). - Practiced in IT Computer skills to be able to perform work within network domain, cloud-based environment, client to host connection and portal services. Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Word embeddings?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, Multiple State, Federal, Tribal and Local Government Agencies Minimum Qualification
Associate Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering, or similar technical degree and two (2) years of experience in end-user support, systems administration, or network administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License; obtain Defensive Driving Certification within 30 days of employment. Preemployment background investigation is required, and employment is conditional pending results. Working Conditions
Long hours (10-12 hour days) are occasionally necessary due to travel time or to cope with system outages and other critical maintenance issues. Work is done in the office, shop and field environments. Driving long distances is sometimes necessary on improved and unimproved roads. Lifting in excess of 50 - 70 pounds is not uncommon. Transportation and operation of allterrain/four-wheel-drive vehicles in mountainous terrain is sometimes required. Working in odd physical postures is necessary when installing, troubleshooting, or repairing equipment. Exposure to hazardous or extreme weather conditions is sometimes required. This position requires regular day travel and occasional overnight travel to varying locations throughout the state. Supplemental Information
