The test engineer collaborates closely with systems engineers to identify testing needs, design and implement test programs, manage the full lifecycle of test hardware, and ensure that test results are thoroughly documented and communicated across the organization. The position plays a key role in developing and standardizing processes for technology maturation, test planning, and test execution within a growing organization that offers significant opportunities for advancement., * Coordinate with systems engineers to identify required testing, assess system risks, and translate requirements into detailed test plans and specifications.
- Plan, design, and oversee structural and vibration test programs, including multibody analysis on models and execution of physical tests.
- Manage the entire test hardware lifecycle, including development, procurement, fabrication, installation, testing, and decommissioning.
- Support the planning, design, and development of test facilities, equipment, and infrastructure needed for structural and vibration testing.
- Enact and refine standard processes and best practices for technology maturation, test planning, and test execution.
- Engage with external vendors to provide technical oversight of start-to-finish testing activities, from initial concept development through test execution.
- Provide general oversight of internal and external testing activities to verify the technical and programmatic completeness of testing performed.
- Offer in-person supervision of test setup, installation, commissioning, and execution to ensure tests are conducted safely, accurately, and in accordance with specifications.
- Document test procedures, results, and findings clearly and communicate outcomes and recommendations throughout the organization.

Requirements

- At least 10-20 years of relevant experience in test engineering or closely related roles.
- Hands-on experience with hardware development, testing, and experimentation.
- Demonstrated experience with design of experiments and test planning.
- Experience designing and analyzing structural and vibration tests for high-reliability products.
- Proficiency in structural stress analysis and vibration analysis.
- Experience with test equipment and test cells used for structural and vibration testing.
- Ability to lead the full testing lifecycle, including test requirements definition, concept development, planning, procurement, and execution.
- Understanding of structural design and analysis principles.
- Experience working under strict quality assurance and regulatory frameworks, such as those common in nuclear engineering or nuclear power environments., * Master's degree in mechanical, electrical, or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with structural and vibration testing across a range of applications.
- Expertise in different dynamic load sources, including seismic, flow-induced, mechanical, and transport loads.
- Experience in nuclear engineering, nuclear power, or other highly regulated, high-reliability industries.
- Strong ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external vendors.
- Proven capability to standardize and improve testing processes and best practices.

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $80.00/hr.
