Job description
Our large technical manufacturing client is looking for an Enterprise Architect with an AI/ML focus to aid in their growing AI needs. This individual will define and drive the enterprise AI/ML architecture strategy aligned to business objectives while leading governance across all AI/ML initiatives, including standards, ARB processes, and guardrails. They will build and maintain the AI/ML roadmap across key areas such as LLMs, RAG, predictive analytics, and intelligent automation, while partnering closely with data science and engineering teams to ensure solutions are scalable and production-ready. The role will oversee the full model lifecycle, including MLOps, model registries, feature stores, and inference pipelines, and establish reusable architecture patterns such as RAG pipelines, AI agents, and model-as-a-service frameworks. Additionally, they will ensure all solutions meet Responsible AI, security, and compliance standards, act as a strategic advisor to business leaders on AI-driven transformation, and support M&A efforts by assessing AI/ML technology stacks and integration risks.
Requirements
- 10+ years in enterprise / solution architecture

5+ years focused on AI/ML architecture

Strong hands-on experience with AI/ML tools (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Azure AI, AWS SageMaker, etc.)

Experience building MLOps pipelines and governance frameworks

Deep understanding of Responsible AI principles
Grounded in the Microsoft framework (Azure, AI foundry, copilot) - LeanIX or EA tooling experience

SAP / ERP ecosystem exposure in manufacturing environments

Experience with RAG, LLMs, and generative AI governance

TOGAF or AI/ML certifications
Benefits & conditions
This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity. This is a remote position, but proximity to Wilmington, DE is preferred. The pay range is $83-93/hr.
