They will need engineering (and some design) experience around Cisco Meraki Wireless, SD-WAN, and FortiGate Firewalls. They have roughly 90 retail stores and some of the immediate work will involve hands-on configuration of the Meraki wireless devices and shipping out to stores. From there, they will work with an onsite partner who does the physical rack and stack work. Other work will entail various improvements across their Meraki environment (both wireless and SD-WAN). Additionally, they will be modernizing and maintaining their FortiGate Firewall environment., The Network Engineer II is responsible for independent execution, troubleshooting, and optimization of network infrastructure, supporting both operational stability and project delivery., * Independently configure, deploy, and support network and security infrastructure

  • Troubleshoot complex network issues across LAN, WAN, wireless, and VPN environments

  • Implement network changes (routing, firewall policies, SD-WAN, wireless tuning)

  • Lead site deployments (stores, warehouses, offices) including circuit turn-up and validation

  • Analyze network performance and recommend improvements and optimizations

  • Support security initiatives (segmentation, NAC, IPS tuning)

  • Participate in DR testing and incident response, including root cause analysis

  • Work directly with vendors and MSP to resolve escalated issues

  • Maintain accurate documentation and configurations

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience

  • Strong working knowledge of:

o Routing (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP)

o Switching (STP, VLANs)

o WAN (MPLS, SD-WAN, VPN)

  • Experience with:

o Meraki and/or Cisco enterprise networking

o Fortinet firewalls and VPN

o Wireless design and tuning

o SolarWinds or similar monitoring tools

o Azure networking (VNETs, gateways, connectivity)

o CCNP (nice-to-have)
