Job description

  • Application Engineering: Design, develop, test, and maintain core business applications using Microfocus COBOL and .Net COBOL environments.
  • Database Optimization: Write, tune, and optimize complex relational SQL queries for high-performance data processing, validation, and extraction.
  • System Support: Analyze, troubleshoot, and debug legacy COBOL programs, batch processing sequences, application abends, and live production incidents.
  • Testing & QA: Perform rigorous unit testing, cross-functional debugging, code reviews, and defect remediation to safeguard enterprise operational workflows.
  • Modernization: Collaborate directly with Business Analysts and QA engineering squads to map requirements and support cloud or modern system upgrades.

Requirements

Senior Mainframe Developer with 8 to 10 years of experience to design, develop, and maintain enterprise COBOL applications using Microfocus and Net COBOL, while optimizing high-volume relational SQL database logic., * Experience: 8 to 10 years of hands-on application development and support experience within enterprise COBOL processing landscapes.

  • COBOL Flavors: Deep, hands-on technical proficiency writing and migrating programs utilizing Microfocus COBOL and .Net COBOL compilers.
  • Database & Tooling: Strong database expertise handling SQL servers, Mainframe DB2 application layers, and AS400/System i COBOL400 environments.
