Job description
Responsible for designing and optimizing our data and data architecture. Responsible for data management and advanced technology. Develop trust and working relationships with business leaders. Help AAA become a data driver company. Work with multiple business units to integrate data across AAA. Lead stakeholder design and sprint review meetings. Works closely with the data science teams to understand and provide data ready for Analytics. Maintain knowledge of multiple Cloud Platforms and 'big data' technologies including Google, IBM, Microsoft, and Amazon. Mentor, share knowledge and give guidance to Data Engineer and Insights/Business Intelligence staff. Understand and practices Action Learning. Experiment with new ideas in the data lab environment and champions agile working processes. Design innovative, high performance data movement and transformation architectures. Keep data separated and secure across national boundaries through multiple data centers and cloud vendor regions. Create data tools for analytics and Insights/Business Intelligence team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.
Requirements
Requires Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or a related field and 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role. Must have 5 years of experience with SQL and working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases. Must have 4 years of experience with the following: communicating and working with senior level stakeholders, integrating machine learning processes and tools with big data platforms, and experience designing and deploying big data ETL / ELT architectures; building data transformation accelerator tools; manipulating, processing and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets; data pipeline and workflow management tools: i.e.: Python, Airflow DataPrep, Talend, etc. Must have 3 years of experience with real-time data processing architectures and tools, as well as Relational, NoSQL, Partitioned, Graph database platforms. May work remotely in an ACG footprint state within the continental United States. Occasional visits to office in Dearborn, MI required. Must have legal authority to work in U.S. EEOE.
