The PharmSci Agentic & Generative AI Architect is a hands-on technical leader responsible for designing, building, and scaling agentic and generative AI solutions in support of Pharmaceutical Sciences initiatives. This role translates Big Ideas into production-ready AI systems, applying strong engineering discipline, scalable architecture, and responsible AI practices., The role operates as a senior individual contributor with broad technical influence, partnering closely with scientific and product leads while maintaining accountability for technical design and execution., Agentic & Generative AI Architecture
- Design and implement agentic AI systems capable of multi-step reasoning, tool use, and autonomous task execution.
- Architect enterprise-grade GenAI solutions, including RAG pipelines, embedding strategies, orchestration layers, and evaluation frameworks.
Delivery & Technical Execution
- Lead PoCs and pilots and scale successful solutions into production-ready capabilities.
- Establish reusable architectural patterns, reference implementations, and technical standards for GenAI and agentic systems.
- Ensure solutions meet expectations for reliability, observability, performance, and cost effectiveness.
Integration & Enablement
- Integrate AI solutions with existing platforms, data sources, and workflows to support adoption.
- Partner with science and product leads to translate requirements into robust technical designs and delivery milestones.
- Mentor team developers and contribute to raising overall GenAI and agentic AI maturity.
Responsible AI Implementation
- Embed governance, security, evaluation, and monitoring considerations into solution design and deployment.
- Support sustainable operation through appropriate lifecycle and maintenance practices., * This role operates within a globally distributed team across multiple time zones, including the United States and India. As such, periodic flexibility in work hours is required to enable effective collaboration, including occasional meetings outside of standard local business hours.

Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI/ML, or equivalent applied experience required and with 6+ years (Bachelor's), 5+ years (Master's), or 1+ year (PhD) of relevant experience.
- Significant hands-on experience building production software and applied AI systems.
- Deep experience with GenAI, RAG architectures, and agentic workflow design.
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python) and modern AI engineering practices., * Experience operating in regulated or process-heavy environments.
- Track record of delivering reusable platforms, accelerators, or reference architectures.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical partners.

Benefits & conditions
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $139,100.00 to $231,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
