Job description

Georgia State University's Instructional Innovation and Technology (IIT) division is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Application Developer, Lead to join our Application Solutions department. This role is responsible for software configuration, testing, and facilitating assigned projects., The scope of responsibilities for this position includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Leadership

  • Under the direction of the manager, mentor and guide junior developers
  • Assist with task assignments and contribute to process and technical decisions

Application Support

  • Troubleshoot application issues and deliver timely fixes and enhancements

Business and Systems Analysis

  • Define system requirements and document business processes and functional requirements
  • Prepare detailed program specifications from which applications will be developed

Application Programming

  • Design, code, test, debug, and document applications in accordance with established standards

Project Management

  • Support project planning and coordination of resources
  • Report project status and progress to stakeholders

Communication

  • Participate in meetings and provide regular updates to management and customers
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure solutions align with business needs

Version Control

  • Provide version control and configuration management for supported applications, as required

Requirements

Do you have experience in System design for system development?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Candidates must demonstrate significant, hands-on experience developing and delivering custom solutions using SharePoint Online and the Microsoft Power Platform-this is a strict requirement for consideration. Applicants must have a proven track record of architecting, developing, and supporting scalable, enterprise-level solutions leveraging SharePoint Online and Microsoft Power Platform technologies, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and related services.

This role requires deep, practical expertise in these platforms, as it is central to designing and implementing robust, high-impact business solutions within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. Only candidates with this level of direct, hands-on experience will be considered., * Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)

  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience developing and delivering custom solutions using SharePoint Online and Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) required for consideration
  • Proven experience architecting, developing, and supporting enterprise-level solutions within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem
  • Strong experience across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including design, development, testing, deployment, and support
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills

NOTE: Preference will be given to candidates who also demonstrate:

Enterprise-level experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft Power Platform

  • Proficiency with enterprise development standards, policies, and IT service management processes
  • Ability to independently contribute across all SDLC phases for projects of varying size and complexity
  • Experience performing requirements analysis and supporting business process improvements
  • Ability to facilitate requirements-gathering sessions and lead discussions with stakeholders
  • Experience serving in a technical lead or project management role, independently leading technology-focused initiatives
  • Demonstrated advanced expertise in application development within an enterprise environment, particularly in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem
