Job description

We are seeking a technically skilled and motivated Applications Engineer to join our team. The Applications Engineer is responsible for providing technical sales support to both external partners (consulting engineers, contractors, and end users) and internal teams (regional managers, project management, engineering, manufacturing, and after-sales service). This position plays a key role in developing system designs, preparing technical proposals, and ensuring that E&I provides accurate and competitive solutions to meet customer needs and achieve sales goals., * Technical Sales Support: Provide technical support for the preparation of bids and proposals to secure orders and meet established sales objectives.

  • System Design: Design equipment for wastewater treatment applications that meet performance requirements and client specifications.
  • Specifications Development: Develop detailed technical specifications for inclusion in municipal bid documents and proposals.
  • Cost Estimation: Collaborate with project management, engineering, and operations teams to develop and maintain accurate cost-to-complete estimates for equipment and projects.
  • Pricing: Prepare pricing estimates for both direct purchase and competitive bid applications.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate regularly with consulting engineers, contractors, end users, and internal sales representatives through verbal and written communication.
  • Project Transition: Assist with the transition of awarded projects to the project management and engineering teams to ensure smooth handoff and understanding of project scope.
  • Software Utilization: Use various software platforms, including AutoCAD, and the Microsoft Office Suite, to develop technical solutions, prepare proposals, and respond to customer and project-related inquiries.
  • Salesforce Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales and customer information in Salesforce software.
  • Training & Development: Maintain product knowledge through ongoing training, seminars, and cross-functional learning opportunities.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow and comply with all Environmental, Safety, Health, and Security (ESH&S) policies.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Wastewater treatment?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree in engineering?, * Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, or a related field in engineering or environmental studies., * Minimum of 3 years of experience in the water and/or wastewater treatment industry, or equivalent experience with exposure to related principles and processes.

  • Experience in technical sales support, design, or system integration preferred.
  • Hands-on field experience with controls, electrical panels, and/or mechanical equipment is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in problem-solving, cost estimation, and proposal development.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and CRM software (Salesforce preferred).
  • Experience using design tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Ability to deliver effective presentations and communicate technical information clearly.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Salesforce software for customer and project tracking.
  • Prior experience in bidding and tendering processes for engineered equipment or municipal projects.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in an office environment with occasional visits to manufacturing facilities.
