Job description
The Sperry Marine Engineering Team is based in Hamburg in Germany and New Malden in the UK. It has responsibility for the development and maintenance of Sperry Marine's wide product portfolio, and aspiring development roadmap.
We are a truly multidisciplinary team, with engineers from electronics, software, mechanical, system engineering and system test backgrounds. To support our aspiring roadmap we are creating a great opportunity for a skilled Systems Test Engineer to join us for a fixed period of time!, * Are you experienced in developing, and carrying out testing on complex systems comprising software and hardware?
- Do you describe yourself as a hands on tester who is at ease setting up both hardware and software test environments?
- Is it important for you to work results orientated, understand how you can help deliver to schedule and budget?

Conduct V&V activities throughout the project lifecycle, including:
- Checking and supplementing requirements with regard to testability/acceptance criteria
- Creation of test plans and test cases
- Designing and setting up test environments in the lab
- Development of test tools in Python
- Test execution and documentation
- Close cooperation with software development to eliminate errors
- Preparation of cost estimates and participation in project planning
- Responsibility for the continuous improvement of product test processes, methods and tools
Requirements
Do you have experience in Scripting?, Technical Skills
- Strong experience of System Engineering Verification and Validation.
- Able to develop testing processes and methods
- Able to develop technical documents and training materials to support new functionality and product releases
- An interest in the use cases and applications for the products we design and build
Specialist Knowledge
- Degree-qualified in electrical engineering, communications engineering or comparable
- Experience of automated test scripting (preferably in Python)
- All round engineering aptitude, with software and hardware test experience. Preferably in Marine but other engineering disciplines (e.g. Automotive, Aerospace) are acceptable.
- Experience of testing in a safety critical or regulated industry (E.g. Marine, Automotive, Aerospace, Rail, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of control engineering and / or Certified tester ISTQB Foundation Level is an advantage
- Good knowledge of German and fluent English
