Job description
This position will require you to design, develop, simulate, analyze, fabricate, test, and evaluate custom electronic systems in a laboratory and office environment. These tasks will involve hardware, firmware, and software development and test. Primarily, you will use CAD (computer-aided-design) tools to develop mixed signal designs from schematic to working assemblies. This development process will involve schematic circuit design and entry, printed circuit board (PCB) design and layout, source code generation and compilation for embedded devices, software development, interfacing with vendors, supervision of assembly, test procedure generation, and design verification testing of completed electronics assemblies and software. Applicants are expected to have a solid understanding of the inner workings of microcontrollers (memory, interrupts, peripherals, etc.) and FPGAs (resources, timing closure, placement, etc.). Other potential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: preparing technical reports and documentation, programming and running various forms of computer simulation, researching technical subjects, specifying and purchasing parts for projects, and interfacing with customers at the technical level. Attendance in the office is required to meet project requirements for debugging, verification testing, etc. and to facilitate mentorship and collaboration., * Do you have demonstrable fluency or proficiency developing embedded firmware for microprocessors or FPGAs (more than just coding for an Arduino)?
- Do you have demonstrable fluency or proficiency designing PCBs and with which CAD packages?
