Job description
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this role will take ownership of key accounting functions including month-end close, general ledger management, reconciliations, multi-state sales tax compliance, commissions, intercompany accounting, royalties, and audit support., * Own critical aspects of the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, amortization, depreciation, and reconciliations
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and supporting schedules to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Support preparation and filing of multi-state sales tax returns and maintain resale tax exemption certificates
- Respond to tax notices and support compliance-related inquiries
- Calculate and analyze commissions for the sales organization and prepare royalty calculations
- Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations to ensure balances are accurate and properly recorded
- Review budget-to-actual variances and identify accrual or reclassification adjustments as needed
- Support year-end audit preparation and internal/external audit requests
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, controls, and reporting efficiency
- Partner cross-functionally with finance and operational teams on special projects as needed
Requirements
Do you have experience in VLOOKUP function?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Burbank, CA finance team. This is a hands-on role for an accounting professional with strong general accounting experience, hands-on month-end close ownership, SAP accounting experience, and multi-state sales tax compliance exposure who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment., * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Hands-on SAP accounting experience strongly preferred
- Strong month-end close ownership experience
- Experience with multi-state sales tax preparation/compliance
- Strong general ledger accounting and reconciliation experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and large data analysis
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment, * Experience in wholesale distribution, consumer products, fashion, or similar industries
- Commission accounting experience
- Intercompany accounting experience
- Audit support experience
- Process improvement mindset

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a full-time onsite position based in Burbank, California.
Periodic extended hours may be required during month-end close, year-end close, audit periods, budgeting cycles, and inventory-related activities.
