Job description

Under supervision, analyzes, designs, configures and/or develops new business processes and re-engineers existing processes within the context of commercially available or in-house developed information management systems; and performs related work as required., Under direction, assist in the implementation of new functions and/or modules in the County's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (SAP). Resolve enterprise system error messages or customer requests while supporting continuous improvement of enterprise business processes. Apply foundational ERP development, configuration, and analytical skills in financials and/or HR. Participate in the evaluation and leveraging emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, automation, and advanced analytics, to improve operational efficiency reporting, and customer services delivery. Develop and maintain basic understanding of ERP configuration, master data, integrations, reporting, and transactions in ERP system(s), including the ability to read and understand code such as ABAP. Experience with SAP is preferred., Under direction, assist the implementation of new functions and/or modules and resolve error messages or customer requests in department specific or county-wide solutions. Apply foundational development, analytical, and process improvement skills to support business needs and technology initiatives. Participate in evaluating and leveraging emerging technologies, including automation and AI-enabled tools, to improve efficiency, services delivery, and customer experience.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Customer communication?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer information systems, geographic information systems, or a closely related field; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.

License Or Certificate A valid driver's license may be required at the time of appointment and if required, must be maintained for continued employment in this classification., * Have ability to work independently, diagnose and solve technical problems, and make customers their top priority.

  • Have an understanding of GIS and cartography fundamentals.
  • Understand web-based GIS fundamentals.
  • Be experienced with cloud-based GIS tools or platforms such as ArcGIS Online.
  • Be experienced with desktop-based GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro.
  • Have an understanding of or ability to write code in Python, Arcade, and SQL.
  • Have a demonstrated record of flexibility and creative problem-solving.
  • Be a self-starter who strives to improve skills and remain current in the application of Geographic Information Systems to local and regional government business processes.

Background checks will be conducted on selected applicants through the State of Nevada and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Per the Washoe County Background and Reference Checks Policy, new and rehired employees are required to submit to a fingerprint based background investigation. Effective January 1, 2025, the $39.00 fee associated with this background investigation will be paid by the employee (if applicable) and deducted automatically from the first paycheck. Employment is contingent upon the results of the background check, although a record of conviction will not necessarily bar an applicant from employment.

Washoe County requires its employees to reside in the state of Nevada or neighboring California communities such as Truckee, South Lake Tahoe or Susanville as of their first day of work.

Washoe County hires all new employees at the minimum rate of the salary range and eligible employees may receive an annual merit increase of 5% until they reach the maximum salary for the classification. Upon promotion, current Washoe County employees are placed at the minimum rate of the salary range for the higher classification of the new position OR a promotional calculation, whichever is greater.
